You may not have known it, but the West African country of Liberia is a young nation where more than 30 languages are spoken. Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, Sierra Leone, Guinea and Côte d'Ivoire, it was the first country on the continent to gain independence in modern times, in 1847.
Despite the increase in transportation costs and the price of paper, we have reached our objectives for the first half of 2021, with a production and distribution rate in line with our objectives.
The Quranforsoul Foundation continues its mission of distributing the Holy Quran to Muslim communities who request it, throughout the world. Each year, we emotionally contribute to the transmission of the word of God and its translation, in the best possible conditions.
Our distribution program in Ghana took place in February 2021, thanks to the support of our local partner, SICO DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION. Indeed, due to the epidemiological conditions, our team was not allowed to travel to Accra, the capital of the country, where the distribution was organized. Nevertheless, a first delivery was made with great success to a certain number of schools. In April, during the month of Ramadan, the operation resumed with a total of 15,800 copies delivered by hand.
Between December 2020 and January 2021, QURANFORSOUL successfully distributed 218,000 copies of the Noble Quran in many provinces of the country. The success of this local operation is due to our local partner, Al-Muntada Association for Kenyan Development. We would like to express our warmest thanks to them.
It is in the Arabic language that God transmitted the Holy Quran to his ultimate prophet, Mohammad. The holy book explains why: " We sent not an apostle Except (to teach) in the language Of his (own) people, in order To make (things) clear to them. Now God leaves straying Those whom He pleases And guides whom He pleases : And He is Exalted in Power, Full of Wisdom.Ibrahim (14: 4). This in no way thwarts the universal dimension of Islam, which is addressed to all of humanity. “ We have not sent thee But as a universal (Messenger) To men, giving them Glad tidings, and warning them (Against sin), but most men Understand not.. »Saba (34:28) If the Quran is therefore Quran only in its strict conformity with the revelation, the fact remains that the Muslims are mainly non-Arabic speakers and that one cannot subordinate their learning of religion to the understanding of the Arabic text. . Of course, this remains a goal, but in the meantime, what a blessing to be able to read the word of God in your native language!
Thanks to the donations entrusted to it, our project has acquired a capital whose investment in Islamic and ethical finance aims to generate a financial resource intended for the printing of the Holy Quran. Each year, we distribute many copies of the Holy book to Muslim communities who request them (162,552 copies printed and distributed per year). And each year, we also give our support to organizations that teach the Holy Quran. But why?
During this period when the possibilities for international travel are reduced, Mercy Center, partner of Quranforsoul in Philippines, organize their events dedicated to the discovery of the Holy Quran. This was the case in September, in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
The Quranforsoul Foundation is invested with a noble mission; It is a matter of responding to the demand of Muslim communities in all countries, faced with their needs for the provision of the Holy Quran, and therefore to allow its discovery and learning. In this globalized world which causes great inequalities and the retreat of spirituality, initiatives allowing to get closer to the Divine Message are more necessary than ever.
