The year begins with the prospect of an improved health situation, following the reduction of barrier measures in several countries around the world. The pandemic, which unfortunately cost the lives of several million people around the world, seems to be subsiding and giving hope for a gradual return to normal life. Nevertheless, we could not start this new season without sending our warmest thoughts to those who have had to mourn the loss of a loved one. Our prayers and invocations will also be dedicated to the return of health for the sick and the restoration of justice and freedom for those who are deprived of them.

While the Muslim population is growing steadily in the great American republic, its image in the public eye has gradually deteriorated since the September 11 attacks. Yet the number of mosques continues to grow, with 2,769 places of worship in 2020.
The Muslim community is also gaining visibility, with three representatives in Congress in 2021.
Unfortunately, prejudice is tough, and surveys of Americans keep Islam at the bottom of the reputation chart.
With an endowment of 50,000 copies of the Holy Quran and its English translation, QURANFORSOUL will meet the demand of several organizations for more Qurans for the spiritual education of believers, as well as satisfy the requests of people interested in the holy text.

United Kingdom, a country where Islam is steadily advancing
In 2016, the Muslim population in England passed the three million mark and was the fastest growing faith group.
The areas with the highest proportion of Muslims are in London, in the boroughs of Tower Hamlets and Newham with 34.5% and 32% of Muslims respectively.
There are over 3,000 mosques in UK, 460 of which are in London. QURANFORSOUL will meet in 2022, the needs of several communities wishing to have more copies of the Holy Quran. Again, a high quality English translation will accompany the original Arabic text.

Mali, but also Nigeria
We will also support our African brothers and sisters, especially in Mali and Nigeria.
Mali, where the State is a-confessional and freedom of religion is guaranteed, has a population of nearly 21 million and is 93% Muslim. As of today, for most religious communities, the means are lacking and QURANFORSOUL will support several organizations in their efforts, with the distribution of 50,000 copies of the Holy Quran, with its translation into French.
The same is true in Nigeria. The most populous country in Africa with 203 million inhabitants, Nigeria had nearly 54% Muslims in 2018, representing 109 million individuals. As in Mali, the means granted to religious institutions are largely deficient. QURANFORSOUL will help them, with the upcoming distribution of 13,000 copies of the Holy Quran, with its translation into English.
